So why "be like Jesus"?
Great question.
To us, learning to be like Jesus is THE point of the church.
Jesus told us to make disciples. But does that mean to simply say "yes" to Jesus by saying a prayer then plugging in a church?
Well, sort of. It may involve that, but to us it's more.
We believe that following Jesus is a lifestyle; where His teaching and Spirit permeate every part of our lives…
from our innermost soul to how we interact with our neighbors;
from how we do our jobs to how we treat our families;
from how we spend our money to what sites we surf on the web.
We are not saying that it's an easy task. Nor do we get it right all the time. Frankly, being like Jesus is not natural for any human being.
It is a process.
As a church, we want to take the notion of discipleship seriously and so we are attempting to intentionally orient our lives around Jesus' teachings, both individually and corporately.
We want to do the things He did.
We want to think like Him.
We want to care about the things He cared about.
It seems to us that being a disciple is to imitate the teacher as best as we can, allowing His Spirit to shape us.
If that resonates with you, we'd love to join you on that journey.
